Hi Raghunath, to measure the equivalent plastic strain you need to:
- solve a non-linear study
- create an equivalent strain plot
- edit the advanced properties of this plot: you will find a drop-down option that lets you choose among total, elastic and plastic strain
My work-around for entering the equivalent plastic strain in the equation driven results was to
calculate the elastic strain (using the von mises stress divided by the modulus of elasticity) and subtract the elastic strain form the total strain as follows:
("ESTRN: Equivalent Strain"-("VON: von Mises Stress"/29900000))
I have checked the plot results versus the tabular output from solid works and the results are compatible.
The next challenge is to determine mesh convergence in solidworks for local failure using the ductile damage material property.
We may limited by the software at this point.
