I'm trying to rotate this part so it will fit into the rest of the assembly. I click on rotate component and I choose to rotate it along the x axis. Whenever I do that it rotates along the wrong axis on not at all. How do I rotate it?

1) Limits on degrees of freedom will limit how you can move/rotate the component even with the move/rotate commands
2) Try using a constraint to get it into place and then deleting the constraint.
Also, if you check this, then no actual constraint is created.
Even if I remove all the mates for that part it doesn't rotate.
1) Is it fixed?
2) Run a CTRL Q and see if it does it then.
Are there any mates on that part? Are those mates the reason it will not rotate how you want it to?
It has mates, but it shouldn't prevent me from rotating the part. I attached my assembly so anyone can download it to see what's wrong.
Mate "Coincident38 (top<1>)" of color indicator<4> prevents the part from rotating in the way you are wanting it to rotate.
It won't rotate even after deleting that mate.
Rotates just fine for me, after deleting that mate.
How are you rotating it?
I'm clicking on rotate components and then I choose delta xyz and rotate on x.
It could also be that my laptop can't handle solidworks
Try this.
Delete the mate.
Click on Rotate Component
Change it to "About Entity"
Show the Temporary Axis
Select the axis of the writing part<6>
Now click on the color indicator and try to drag it
