In SWX weldment. is it possible to offset the structural component from the sketch line like it is in Inventor Frame Generator?
If I understand your need, you have two options:
Thanks Deepak. That worked. I edited the sketch for the structural member (3" square tubing), selected the items in the sketch, and moved the items to where I wanted them to be. I wanted the tubing to be tangent to the 3d weldment sketch line instead of centered on it. Easy Peasy. I'm very new to SWX, about a month now. I came from an Inventor background (12 yrs).
Welcome to SolidWorks. I hope you like it. I'm pretty sure you will if you'll keep an open mind and learn how things work instead of getting upset that SW doesn't work like Inventor (and so far I haven't seen anything to indicate that that's been a problem for you).
Thanks Glenn. I like it a lot. They're very similar and I've already found most of the frequently used functionality I used in Inventor plus a bunch more that SWX has. It's as good or better than Inventor.
Well sort of, if by "offset" you are referring to a placement point and not a distance from that point.
Thanks J. Mather, a picture is worth a thousand words and you put together a great comparison OF SWX vs Inventor.
