You can put the locator on a layer.
if you go to tools, doc properties, tables, hole. This is where it can be changed.
I think you have to create a new layer first and make that layer hidden.
Then you should be able to select it in doc properties. Make sure you do this to
your template and save it.
Funny did not think of that,
You can try and create a hidden layer. I was able to turn it off by selecting the indicator and changing the layer.
not sure if that will work in the template or not. I just hide the indicator as needed.
if that does not work maybe someone else has an idea.
Your hole table has a template......
I wonder if you edit your table to have the origin on a specific layer, then save it as a template and use that template, would it work?
Not sure and I don't have time to test it out. Try it.
Well Dan, it was worth a shot.
The origin indicator seems to appear either way. It's starting to seem like this isn't possible through normal means.
I might have to just make a macro or something to save myself the mild annoyance.
Sounds like having more control on the hole tables would be a good ER.
I'm on 2015 and off subscription so I can't do it, but it would be good if someone did.
I don't use the tables too often yet - but progressively am doing more.
Many of the settings in the options or in the tables themselves should be setup for user preferences to have the defaults on or off.
Line spacing, Text size, standard columns, dragging rows to user selected order or by part or hole size ...
I always have to hunt to do things and then add or change a feature and everything is out of order and I have to re-do it.
If it was more like excel where you could customize heavily it would be so much easier.
