I am trying to loft a section running through a wing, however every time I try to loft, SolidWorks shows exactly what I want, but then when I press tick it says 'operation failed due to geometric condition', any clues what I can do to fix it?
can you post your model here
Duncan.. without the file.. it is not easy to say what is happening.. so, if you can post the file or copy just the bodies/faces which are used.. that would help greatly.
There ya go
Your model is not included sketches you want to loft
Duncan.. it's creating a zero thickness problem because of the combined sketch profiles as one.. it's not that smart.
..and personally, each beam profile/side should be lofted independently.. (image attached)
Also because of the nature in the way I have done this it means when I try to run a sim it wont just run on the I-beam, it tries to analyse the ribs too - if I try and remove/delete the ribs however, as the loft was done in relation to a sketch on those parts it deletes the loft as well. Could there be a way round this? Thanks - Duncan
