I am trying to enter an angle in as Deg/Min and it is not letting me do it. I set the units to Deg.Min
When I go to enter in 11°30' it won't let me and turns red.
What can be causing this to happen?
If I had to guess, your problem is Service Patch 1.1
Install SP5.0 and I bet it will work correctly...
It lets me put it in as 11.5deg but in the past I've always entered it as 11°30'. What is the deal?
Enter it using deg no spaces
That's weird, I'm not having any issues with it. I'm even able to type 11deg30' with units still set to degrees
Same thing happens
Try changing the units to deg/min/sec...
If you start a new file - do you see this same behavior?
If yes, can you attach the new file here?
It does the same thing. The only way it works is if I enter 11.5deg.
I opened your part and it works here - what is your version ?
Try this change
Already tried this and nothing changes. I've tried every option with no luck.
Did you try to change your drafting standards from ANSI to ISO or the other way around?
Just tried it and still the same thing.
That is the same thing I was thinking. One question.....If I am on SP5.0 and a colleague is on SP1.1 would they be able to open my files? Not sure if service packs count as future versions or if it is just the releases.

The only thing left - and since I was going to "Say" the same thing, it's just that I didn't think of it till I seen Ricks' answer, do I get the correct answer??? lol - gm Rick Becker
Yes. Any SW2015 will open any SP

John that would be the second time you didn't think of it until after me in this thread (see above on changing units to deg/min/sec)
I do believe I have the correct answer first. lol
Unfortunately I cannot update this since we let our subscription lapse. I'm guessing that is the reason I am getting this error.
Even though your subscription lapsed, your VAR should still be able to give you what you need, check with Alin Vargatu for verification...
Saying it once - really means I don't know what I'm talking about - saying it twice just reinforces the "Saying it once"
I am running 2015 SP5 and I was able to type it in correctly in your part.
I checked the knowledge base and I don't see anything that is similar to the issue you are having.
Try sending this to your VAR.
Will do.....Thanks Fellas!!!
Christopher Estelow, without a current subscription you will not be able to get to the download area to download the files.
However, as John Stoltzfus said, check with your VAR.
I was in the same boat, 2015 SP2 but I had the access to the download area because we had another seat that was still on subscription.
I was able to access the downloads section and download the files using that license.
Do you have any licenses' at your company that are on subscription or anyone else that has downloaded the 2015 SP5?
If you have the download you can update your seat as long as your subscription was active when version 2015 (sp0 or above) was released. It does not need to be active now.
If you can get a copy of SP5 in your company (or from your VAR) you can install it.
When I installed SP5 on my system it gave me a notice that this may not be valid (but it is) and I just continued and it loaded and activated without problems.
For future, any time you have subscriptions, do the full download option for each version and service pack - even if you don't think you will use them - you never know.
To download them you just go through the process as if you were going to do an install but select the "Download Only" setting - this will download ALL the files and prerequisites you may need and then you can do the install from that set of files later. you would also have the complete file set in-case you had to do a reinstall for some reason.
Also, before you do any update, install, uninstall or repair, be sure to backup using the "Copy Settings Wizard" and then you can restore your settings after the install. Also it is a good idea if you have any files like templates, materials, toolbox custom settings - anything you may have updated - be sure to make a backup as installing or repairing may overwrite the files and all your customizing will be lost.
Thanks for all the valuable info Rick.
