The goal is to add part numbers to the configuration properties to multiple configurations using the design table. As you can see below, I have assigned part numbers (PN1, PN 2... etc.) to each configuration. However, it doesn't seem to come through in the configuration specific tab.
What is the proper way to assign part numbers to configurations?
You are looking to add a custom property, right? I've found that the best way to see how a specific feature works with a design table is to create the feature first and then auto-create the design table.
I have done just that, and the result is a column with the name $PRP@PartNo

If your Intention is to add Part Number, You can just right click the configuration -> Properties -> Under BOM Options you can change as user specified Name and update accordingly.

I've looked at your suggestion and it is set up exactly as you have shown in the screenshot. But the intention is to have the part number value within the 'Configuration Specific' tab so that it can be used by other programs i.e. we use a program called CADLink.
Currently I have to go through each configuration and enter the part number manually.
Yeah we're talking about the same thing. I don't know if my bit works when the custom property is not added yet. If it doesn't, please try to add an empty PartNo property first and then change it via the design table.

Your suggestion worked for me. I created a Part Number in the 'Configuration Specific' tab first and it generated a field call $PRP@PartNumber within the design table. This seems to be specificly linked to each configuration. Whereas previously the field was labelled $PARTNUMBER, which was connected to the 'Custom Configuration' tab only. Now each configuration has its own unique PartNumber and it is showing through in CADLink as well.

Hi, I've considered this method. However, Since our part numbers are almost meaningless, naming configurations based by part number would cause confusion when it comes to building assemblies. But this is good to know for sure.
