I'm trying to mirror a cut-loft about the tip plane of the cone. This will result in a cut in the hole plate as the screenshot shows but SW does not allow this. I attached the file. Any help is appreciated!

This won't work as there is no material to cut. You can however use other ways like
Create the loft as separate body
Do a body mirror with merge solid option
Now use indent to remove from one body.
And finally combine -subtract from other body.
