I am using SW2014 SP5.
I would like to fillet a small step / jog. The diameter of the fillets is larger than the step. because of this I can't seem to get the fillet tool to create the two fillets. See the attached image to understand the resultant "S" shape of the two tangent fillets I would like to create.
This is easy enough to create manually. But I would like to use the fillet tool.

Good question Daen.. Looks like if you sketch your lines tangent to the circles as shown then fillet one corner with the appropriate radius, accept that, then select the fillet just created and the other tangent line (not connected to original fillet line) and fillet the arc and line you can come up with the S curve.
Of course then you have to delete the extra line.
..no.
..the next is fillet edge an fillet edge using the radius which is meets the mid.
..then fillet face each using a holdline...
..although close neither is a true tangent s curve.
Was I wrong in assuming this was a sketch fillet?

Inquiring minds just got to know. If you use the FeatureXpert does that not give you a true tangent s curve?

You just have to put the fillets in 2 different steps.

Yes you can use the sketch fillet tool but you need to draw your initial sketch like this........
Then Fillet (.8125" Radius)
Then select the top radius and the vertical line
Right click this line and make it a construction line
Then add a equation, that way you have only one dimension to change
For something like that instead of adding an equation I would just Link the dimensions.

Thanks so much for the input. I just couldn't seem to get my head around it. The simple answer is to create two separate features as was suggested by all. Sorry that my original post was unclear that I was trying to create fillet features and not sketch fillets. I had "doctored" the underlying sketch with the construction circles to help clarify.
I did adjust the step sketch so that it was tangent with the top circle (thanks Dennis Bacon). I then created two edge fillet features (the two edges of the step) and it worked like a charm (thanks again Dennis and Dan Pihlaja).
That's fine Daen, Dennis Bacon definitely has the correct answer, but since you did start with a sketch layout to begin with, I just wanted to share that if you need to - how to do it in the sketch mode, which I would pick rather than the two fillet features....

bcuz...I can't get my head what you guys did.. (using 2014 version).. to get the same radius to be S tangent...
..my workaround would be to add the angle.. or a pre-chamfer to get the 2 R's tangent ..
Paul, I attached an example file... but it is with the original message. The forum would absolutely NOT show me the "use advanced editor" option so I had to edit the original. But once that was done, this message is more than happy to show me the "advanced" option???

Why can't you trim these entities off to get the same effect as with two fillets unless I'm missing something?

Your approach is valid.
The origins of my question come down to the specifics of the project. My model has multiple feature edges that all require a common size fillet. I was trying to capture all the fillets in a single feature and this particular step/jog was causing problems. Which led to the above inquiry.
I was hoping there was a way within the same fillet feature to achieve the result, while still maintaining all the other fillets not part of this discussion. But I will settle for two features.
And hopefully that gives you some background as to this particular "why".

Well I had been into situation where I would have to use multiple fillets. So in order to keep them same (and get them changed/updated at same time), I would link the fillets dimension values
