I'm stumped when it comes to coming up with a strategy for modeling the sweeping top shape of this camera model in solidworks. The last photo shows what I've managed to do. I created the 3d curves by projecting two profile curves together, then used those curves as guide rails for a surface loft between two flat profiles. Problems: 1. The twist in the surface curvature around the hand grip area. 2. lofting the back side - the small cut in the back profile is giving me trouble. 3. Solidworks refuses to loft from the front edge of the surface to the front of the main body solid (intersecting geometry).
