How to make a cam follower STAY on the cam without a spring?

I am trying to find the theoretical acceleration of a flat faced cam follower but it keeps flying off when I simulate it. I have used a cam mate to mate my cam and follower and when I move it in model view it works fine, they stay together. If I run basic motion or animation in the motion study, they seem to stay together. Yet when I put it onto motion analysis it bounces up and down on the cam. My speed is 1700 and I know is it high but that is what speed the cam runs at and I need to simulate it at that speed.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I just want the cam and follower to stay in contact at all times and record the accelerations in the follower as the cam moves it up and down.

(I can't use a spring either as everytime I use one I get issues such as the two bodies penetrating etc).
