..maybe make a wireframe of the volume using a 3dSketch.. and fill the openings/boundaries..then.. thicken?

This is off topic, but what are your Scene and Lights setting? Yours looks much better than mine. I have RealView and Shadows in Shaded Mode on.
Hello Grant,.. looking at your screen shot.. the Scene/Evironment has a "red X",.. (Warehouse-with-lights.jpg) is missing,... but almost any image will help add some reflection in that case.
..here is a link to that jpg... and they also has the hdri file..
Wow, that looks much better. Is there a way to tone down the reflective? I feel like the contrast is off the charts.
