This is an elaboration on what John Stoltzfus mentioned. Do a surface offset of 0 on your (what looks like) revolve. Then do a delete hole - Select edge then delete hole. The you can do a split. In the dialog save assign names and save the bodies.

On a bit of an unrelated note - what did you use to record your work?
At home, I use the built in recording program "Shadow Play" that comes with Nvidia GPUs, but it's a bit more gaming focused and still has some bugs in it. I was wondering if there was a simpler alternative for work related things, cause that would be handy to have from time to time at the office.

There is another way when you build the head, uncheck the option "Merge result" so you end up with 2 separate bodies (multi-body part) - Body and head - just hide or delete the head body if you don't want to
