helloo solidworks experts.. first of all i am beginner in solidworks. what i know solidworks is capable to make surface model and also mid surface extract form solid parts. so how can i make mid surface from solid part.? however the parts is in step format (.step)... is it possible.?

Do you really need a surface at the middle of the part or just a reference plane?
If you post the STEP file we would have a better idea of what you are trying to achieve, and how to achieve it.
Though I haven't had an occasion to try this I think you should be able to create a plane there. Select the two surfaces, Insert>Reference Geometry>Plane and a Plane will be added at the Mid Plane.

Are you doing this for FEA?
You can open up the STEP file in SOLIDWORKS and then try to use various surface tools to get the desired result.
