I seated this O-ring on desired position by using Tangent Mate. I wish to know whether it is possible to seat this O-ring without using Tangent Mate & distance.

Tangent Mate gave me problem. That is why I want to avoid using tangent mate. Please see the following link:

I know to use distance mate. Just I wish to know is there other possibilities?
You could create an axis in both parts and mate them together that way, and mate the mid-plane of the o-ring to the face at a distance r away.
Another way to get the concentric mate to work, would be to create a cylindrical surface extrude in both directions. After creating the extruded surface you can hide it and use it as a mate reference in the assembly.
You can add two planes (even one would do) in the o-ring and then use them to add the coincident mate
But what is issue in using tangent or distance mate.
