    Save SMG with tree

    Pablo Fernández

      Hi,

      I would like to know if there is a way of saving a solidworks assembly to .SMG via API, including feature tree, so a anyone using Composer Player can hide objects and create dimensions.

      Regards

          Hallo Pablo,

          I'm having same issue here. There are a lot of option you can change in order to have them exported from SW in .smg, but I havn't found how to export with options to show the tree. As you can see they put this option int he regiostry but there is no interface on 'Save As: .smg' from SOLIDWORKS. I guess that they were planning to do this in future version.

          HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dassault Systemes\Composer\Preferences

          IOChordalErrorValue =0.2

          IOImportAsBodies = dword:0

          IOImportFreeFaces =dword:1

          IOImportMassProperties =dword:1

          IOImportMetas =dword:1

          IOImportNoShow =dword:0

          IOMergeFileInOneActor =dword:1

          IONormalDeviationValue =20

          IORefinement =0.5

          IORefinementType =dword:0

          IORelativeRefinementFunction =dword:0

          IOSetChordalError =dword:1

          IOSetNormalDeviation =dword:0

          You can change the 'DWORD' values to 0 (unchecked) or 1 (checked).

          If anyone have any idea how to enable assembly tree in export process from SOLIDWORKS in .smg please share.

          Regards,

          Ivan
