I am trying to convert our company standard autocad template
into a solidworks drawing/sheet format.
I have been trying to open the autocad drawing in solidworks, here is what I have been doing
start solidworks,
select open
select the autocad drawing
select convert to solidworks entities,
select next
leave import this sheet check box checked as model
select next
in output file properties
change sheet size to custom, enter 48"X36"
Here's where I get into trouble, I had tried this before and under "document template there is already a sheet format 48rll, which is what I want. leaving this as is, the red border appears around my sheet the proper size and location.
drawing sheet scale 1:1
click finish
I get what appears to be a good sheet. Border is OK, title block is OK.
I then save this drawing as a template 48roll.drwdwt, and also save the sheet format as 48Roll.slddrt
Now when I open a part file select make drawing from part, I select the 48Roll template. When it is created, the border is about 1/4 the correct size, the title block is OK, except that a hatch that is in the title block is also to small.
The feature manager list the part, a model and a sheet with a sheet format under thte sheet, plus sometimes a second layout, with another sheet and another sheet format, but they are greyed out, not clickable.
Is there a link to how to create a drawing sheet that looks and acts like an Autocad drawing?
