I just "upgraded" to 2017 and I have found that when I detail a weldment and insert the weldment cut list then add balloons to the weldment items the balloons are tied to the BOM for the assembly, not the weldment cut list. So to try to be as clear as possible...... I create a drawing for a top level assembly and insert the BOM. For any components that are weldments I had a sheet to detail that weldment and I insert the weldment cut list. Then I select auto balloon and the view that I used for the weldment cut list. SW puts in one balloon that lists which item it is in the top level BOM instead of adding a balloon to each weldment member and numbering them according to the weldment cut list. To resolve this I have to select the view and go to properties and link it to the correct table (weldment cut list). I didn't have to do this extra step in SW 2016.

I have already contacted my VAR and they didn't know of a way to make it automatically link to the weldment cut list. If anyone knows of a way to fix this I will greatly appreciate the assistance! I hope this isn't just going to be a permanent side effect of SW adding 200 new "features" of which I won't find benefit from 199.
