I modify my assembly. One of the part is missing (it is a subassembly). I can see the part number in the Feature Manager tree. When I right click to open it the file is blank in part file? What goes wrong?

Interesting enough there is no error. The part in the FM is not grey out either. The part appears 3 times in my assembly. I click every single one to locate them but nothing found. They are not suppress either. Where do they physically go?
Do you see the features of the part in the feature manager tree when you open it. If yes then left/right click on any feature and select show.
I think John Stoltzfus is correct based on your image
see if you have a backup saved of that sub assembly from earlier or if there was an auto backup. If there is, you should be able to rename it and place it in the folder where the original was and it will be back - maybe an older version but better then redoing it from the start.

What modification to you make to your Assembly? Did it have anything to do with this missing subassembly?
Seems to me that the link is broken; however, you should see the error mesg when you open the assembly?
Is the part in the FM grey out?
