How to measure dimension in E-Drawings

Hi All;
I like to measure the diemension E-drawings.But always the dimension icon is not activated.So,what I have to do to activate the dimension icon.Plz guide me in this case.

Measuring is only available in the Edrawings Professional version which comes with Solidworks Pro or Premium. The Edrawings that gets installed with just Solidworks basic is a basic view only program and you can't purchase Edrawings Pro by itself.

  You used to be able to purchase a Pro license by itself - we had one, but I haven't checked recently.
  
  But if you have PDMWE these days you have eDrawings Pro. The key to measure is that the file has to be saved on a Pro machine and the measure has to be enabled. Then anyone that receives the file can measure.
