I am importing a scanned surface with alignment pins that were scanned during an inspection, the scanned data is in IGES format. The surface shows up but I need the axis from the inspection pins as well but they are not showing up. Any ideas
You could try turning on temporary axis
Temporary axis will not work, I need them to come in on the import. I should have explained a little more but all I am getting on import is the surface and I need to re-create the features from the axis. Thank you for the input.
Save as SW Part and create all axis you need manually.
There is no data to create the axis manually. I need the axis to create features, but thank you for the reply
If the inspection pins were probed, you may have a 3d sketch/curves feature. Make sure the box is checked in the Import options
This worked and thank you.
In my very limited experience, unless using something like geomagic to recognize geometry, scanned data does not give axes. If the geometry was recognized, then turning on temporary axes would show the centers of the holes.
Also, IGES is an old format. I don't know how scanned data works in IGES, but maybe it doesn't support determining axes from scanned data (just a guess). If it does, please correct me.
