Can you install and use Visualize 2017 Pro when you have SolidWorks 2016 installed and not 2017 installed?
Yes, I have SW2015 and am running with 2016 Visualize so I'd think you situation will work.
only if you have SW 2017 licence number
Yes I have the SW 2017 license number. We have 12 people that use SW, our IT guy does not want to install the SW 2017 until later next month. I have the standard Visualize I use now but when we got SW 2017 I ordered the Visualize Pro. Our IT is saying Visualize 2017 Pro will not work without the SW 2017 installed also.
well that changes whole situation if u have VIS PRO serial. besides you could install visualize on computar that never even seen SW. it's completely stand alone program
I think you IT guy is wrong. If you have the SW2017 license file and your Visualize Pro is on there, just have your IT guy install that license file and you should be able to use Visualize Pro and SW 2016.
Thanks..I will talk to our IT guy to see what we or he can do.
Your IT guy may be referring to the 2017 feature that allows SW2017 to export files directly to Visualize 2017. This linkage allows automatic updates to Visualize whenever the file is changed in SolidWorks.
Something o look forward to when they upgrade to SW2017!
