When I am in an assembly or a part solidworks is real jumpy and/or knotchy. When I move the model around it will disappear from the screen and/or stop for a few. If I do not give it time to catch up it will shut down. It is really bad in mate.
Can you post your computer specs, Solidworks version? That is normally the first thing to check when you are experiencing a graphics issue. I am assuming you have done the standard restart to see if it helped.
Possibly also related, my graphics are jumpy when I rebuild, save, or mate. The view jumps to the last view then updates to the current view.
I have exactly the same, it's like screen isn't refreshing or refreshing with delay. ie. switching from one file in SW to another it preshows view of old part befor changes.
And I highly doubt it would be graphic card - it must be other setting (which one?)
I have K5200 quadro.
Are you using an NVidia Geforce card?
NVIDIA Quadro 4000
NVIDIA Quadro K1100M
You can check your computer specs using the link below to see if that may be the issue. I am using two Quadro M2000M cards and mine works. I thought all Quadro cards were certified for Solidworks use but I may be wrong. Seems like both the cards in question have a better benchmark then my cards using a quick Google search.
The CARDS may be certified, but not all the DRIVERS are certified. Make sure that you are using a certified driver version (and not necessarily the latest one).
Thank you. I actually have the same problem but couldn't find the answer which is why I registered in this forum! This really helped.
Have you checked to see if you have the proper SW approved driver? Use Solidworks RX.
Maybe Windows force fed you a bad driver?
Here's my setup:
Ah-hah. In the computer control panel, it said my driver was up-to-date. But Solidworks RX said not. I updated and will now give it a try.
that's not the case on my machine, all up to date, and still doing it.
So be prepared no to see any changes;p
Seems like NVidia has had some challenges here lately! I'm glad my AMD is doing ok. I've used AMD in the past 3 machines without a single hiccup. (fingers crossed)
You're correct. I still have the problem.
Guys I really appreciate all the input. I updated all the driver of my graphics card and made sure it was solidworks compatible. I changed the performance settings as well. As for now it is better but not fixed completely.
Gary & Wojciech ... Not sure if it applies to SW2015 but just another thought based off of Wojciech' comments about the slow view changes.
Solidworks doing a double take when asking it to do a command
You are correct John. This is my issue. I went out of maximized window and the problem went away.
Thanks for the help!
