Still failing every second document!
2017 Premium 64 SP 2.0
2017 Professional 64 SP 2.0
Since 2013 !!
SolidWorks Task Scheduler 2013 fails to perform PDM operations
jajajaja only bones remained,
In MEMORY of SW BUGS
Same thing happening here - every other file is "failed unexpectedly". This happened when using Task Scheduler to export files from the vault (both pdf and step file attempts).
This did not happen before updating to SW2017.
Peter, as discussed on the phone this is marked as the SPR below
And still waiting for a fix.
Why has this being ignored since at least 2013 if it has been marked critical?
But, I am getting emails about what new things I would like added to a future release?
How about these bug fixes that keep being ignored?
I have just been told this has been fixed in 2017 sp4.0, then they pulled this service pack, as it was as bug ridden as a camels hump!
So hopefully when 2017 sp4.1 comes out, this is still fixed! :-)
Looks like the Solidworks team think we are mushrooms!
This issue is NOT fixed in Solidworks 2017 sp4.0
May as well get the grill on https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/garlic-mushroom-ribeyes
Where do I get beef broth from?
Best to go organic . Organic Beef Bone Broth | Kettle & Fire Who knew it had health benefits as well!!! It's turning out to be a good day!
Found a UK supplier :-)
Nutritious Beef Bone Broth – Coombe Farm Organic
I re-raised this. I think it is fixed ofor windows 7 but not 8.1 or 10. SPR 1040222 logged for this I think.
Thanks for the reply.
I am using Windows 7 64 bit and Solidworks 2017 sp4.0
Also the same on Window 10 64 bit and Solidworks 2017 sp4.0
SPR 1040222 not shown as fixed in any of the three 2018 beta's !!
And it is the exact same Failed Unexpectedly error on the Windows 7 machine for every other file?
if you could send a screen grab of the results to our support email and reference SR 1-14708296548 we can upload your image to SW. If you can make it obvious from your image you are Windows 7 too- maybe a full screen image that shows the START menu. I am on leave today but one of my colleagues on the help desk can upload to this SR. the image should show this, but please confirm the task type- ie is this the Convert Wpdm task again?
Thank you for replying.
Yes its the same every time.
You will see that the "completed with warnings" are when the documents were updated before, solidworks version of, they are already up to date.
The last screen grab is trying to print!

Peter, it seems there are other more general SPRs still to be addressed 931249, 1020307, 1024470 and 1027924. The last being the most generic which I have chased status on.
just had this reply.
Thank you for contacting SOLIDWORKS Technical Support.
This is a known issue for 'Convert Workgroup PDM files'task that has been previously submitted to our R&D team in:
SPR 1020307 - 'Task Scheduler: Convert files task isshowing error message 'Failed Unexpectedly' for only second part afteradding two part files at a time'
It has already been fixed in SW 2018 Beta3, however, ithas also been escalated for 2017, so we also expect this issue to be fixed inSW 2017 SP5.
Lokks like the above answer has been over ridden, as this what I received yesterday!
No mention of 2017 sp5 this time! , typo maybe?
The following SPR (SolidWorks Performance Report) statushas changed to Implemented.
SR# (Service Request): 1-14724186780
Description: Task Scheduler: Convert files task isshowing error message 'Failed Unexpectedly' for only second part afteradding two part files at a time.
Version: 2018 b3
For more information, visit the SolidWorks CustomerPortal and select My SPRs.
it IS going to be fixed in 2017 sp5. Woop!
Man, this is going to save me so much work porting over to Solidworks PDM pro from workgroup PDM.
Not sure what process you are using the task scheduler for, but have you looked at #TASK ?
Since 2013 !!
Updates documents in the vault to current Solidworks year version without changing the issue, version or revision, depending on how you have the vault setup.
I don't think TASK can do this.
Just seen this on the forum!
Haven't laughed this much about Solidworks for a long time!
