My school requires me to install SOLIDWORKS 2016 SP2 and I had a similar problem: SolidWorks would not start and would give an error message about "side-by-side configurations".
I solved the problem by installing a package from Microsoft. In my case, I had to install the Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package. Here's a link:
The package you need to install might be different.
Judging by the log files you posted, I think you need to install the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64).
