Hi all, I have an solidworks assembly and an smg file with relatives jpeg already done. Now I have to "pack and go" the entire works and change few things in the solidworks assembly. Please, tell me there is a way to re-use the smg file and jpeg without ŕe-do everythings...
Paolo,
The way I would go about this would be to pack and go my Solidworks assembly and also make a copy of my original SMG file. You would then open the copy of your SMG file and update the assembly using your pack and go assembly. I would do this before any changes were made in my new Solidworks assembly. Doing this before any changes were made would allow you to make changes as they arise instead of all at once. I would then update my new SMG file as needed. This would allow you to be able to update only the geometry / parts that changed and not your full assembly which seems to work better in most cases in my experience.
As for a jpeg once that file is saved it is not going to auto update since it is just an image file. What you will do is update your views and create new jpegs with your new SMG file. if you have your views laid out in a good manner this should not be hard to accomplish fairly quickly.
Cheers,
Derek
