How can I get the 3 slots around a cylinder?
Did you watch any "How To" videos or have "Any" training in SW ??
You need to use a circle profile and the Cut Sweep Feature
There are multiple ways to model this Part. Can you attach what you have done so far?
Thanks Glenn. See what I've done
Dennis' way is the easiest. Draw the main cylinder. Draw your nubbins w/fillet and thru hole. Circular pattern those features. Draw your wedge with full radii, circular pattern the bodies. Combine (subtract)
Hint: It's in the name of of the dimension "6X_________"
Draw sketch like this and Cut extrude it and add fillets, after that you can use a circular pattern.
One of (probably) many way to do this would to make a wedge (do not merge) add the fillets (full round) - CirPattern the body then combine subtract.
Dennis Bacon That is an awesome way to do it - Thanks for teaching me a new way today
ok let me try it . Thanks.
Here's another method. Create one of the flat sections.
Linear pattern it.
Connect them with an Extrude and Circular Pattern it.
Finish with a Combine and Fillet.
Or you could do it with a solid swept cut & circular pattern:
I like this method. It replicates how the slots would be made in real life.
my lazie-mans take on it
just a rough'n - kelef
