Owen,.. are you wanting to physically add or model that texture into the surface?..
..are you going to 3D print this?..
If you have access to another program like Modo or Zbrush or Rhino3D (and, there are others) which can transform a texture image into raised texture?
Otherwise... are you just trying to render this using PV360... because you can.. if you find the right texture and create a good normals image to give a good bump map on your render surface.... (example attached)
Hi Owen,..
..in the "Advanced" area.. under "Surface Finish"... you have a choice to use "From File" .. and choose a "Normal map" (0334-d-b_NRM.png) as your "Bump mapping" ... and, you can also enhance/increase this further by checking the "Displacement mapping"
..if you want to create your own "Normal Map" (0334-d-b_NRM.png) .. there are some programs which can help create them.. and/or you may have the software already which can do this,.. otherwise, do a search on the web for "create normal map"...... in this case (0334-d-b_NRM.png) , I used a software called "CrazyBump".
I did get that far, but it does not want to bump out very far... at least not as far as yours did. Is there any way it can bump further? or does the grey scale picture max out at some point?
Owen,.. I just added more info above about creating your own "Normal map"... and as you have notice.. it will depend in the map you use to get the amplified look you are after... so, there is a learning curve,.. (tweaking) on what works better for the image/map..
I WISH IT WAS BETTER... and we had more features for mapping and it was more interactive.. like REAL profession software packages provide.. BUT..I digress... that can only be achieved via a "enhancement request"... BECAUSE... SW Corp.. does not believe you need this functionality. (that is, they will NOT put $$$ into this without more request OR if their competition makes them look bad)
