Honycomb pattern cut on outside of thin extrude

Hi all,

I'm looking to cut a honeycomb pattern through a rectangular shell. I want the cut to be applied normal to all of the faces, and I would like to be able to apply this to any number of similar geometries. The problem is I want it to wrap around the edges and stay continuous, so basically have the honeycomb pattern link up as it wraps around the object.

Please advise on what you recommend!
