I wish I could test/check on this for you, but I was laid-off about 3 weeks ago and no longer have access to MBD.
Just a thought, atlhough I do not know MBD. The 3 surfaces are to have the same surface finish. Can't you use the all round symbol?
That is a one way there.
With the MBD approach though one would like to associate all of the related surfaces so that they will highlight together in a 3D PDF or eDrawing file.
Surface finishes today are not part of the DimXpert scheme, so they can't reuse the DimXpert feature collections yet. This is an area we are looking into.
Your approach of multiple leader lines works. It is more friendly to printouts where digital cross highlighting doesn't work.
Thank you Oboe.
I've opened an ER because I believe that it would be important to give a quick and compact way to explicitate surfaces finish symbols and referenced surfaces.
This piece of information could be read by CAM for appropriate machining.
You are right about remininding me about printouts. The lesson from this blog post you wrote is clear:
In my case one would either:
- preparare an isometric view dedicated to surface finished (like mine)
- Create projected views where surface finish symbols would be singularly put on surfaces. Like this:
