Has anyone used, looked at, heard of, Bluestar PLM, BluestarPLM.com? Couldn't find anything on line as to how well it handled Solidworks files?
Hi David, have you learned anything more about Bluestar PLM?
I am also researching using Bluestar with Solidworks. I am specifically interested in managing configurations and file references. I have no answers, and there is no information that I have found though simple searches yet. I am scheduled to attend one of their webinars in February.
I suspect that unless they have a partner relationship with SOLIDWORKS, you may have to find a third part coder familiar with SOLIDWORKS API as well as Bluestar to get any configuration or file referencing functionality. I would be really interested to know what you find out.
I received the following reply from Bluestar support-
"Bluestar supports configurations in Solidworks and when a SW configuration is released into D365/AX it will be released as its own item ID or as an Item master with each SW configuration as a AX product variant."
I am looking at Bluestar as well. I already had a online demo showing the Solidworks integration. At first glance it looks pretty good. I am mainly interested in the benefit of the seamless AX integration. I would be very interested as well in some real world experience.
