Why does my animation not work? (vehicle doesn't move smoothly)

Question asked by Diego Fung on Feb 15, 2017

Hello Solidworks community!

I'm trying to create an animation of this underwater vehicle. As you can see in the video (see attached), when the vehicle starts moving (from time = 0 to time = 18 seconds), the vehicle cannot move smoothly. It seems to be shaking a little bit while it moves. Can someone explain me why this is happening? Do you know how to fix this?

The propulsion is provided by the blades at the bottom side of the vehicle. As you can see in the video, the blades spin out of phase. In addition, the motors rotate at variable speeds. For example, when the vehicle descends, the blades spin slow. When it climbs, the blades spin faster. This is necessary to make the animation as realistic as possible. I had to a second path so that the vehicle follows the path and doesn't tilt to the side. For the vehicle to move forward, I attached a linear motor at the nose.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!

Diego
