I have a sheetmetal part that is a lofted part between two ojive shapes of different size. I need to add slots for plug welds and I cannot figure out a way to do it. Can not sketch on the surface, can not wrap the feature.....suggestions needed.

If you add the slots in the folded state, when you do your Cut Extrude you need to check the Normal Cut box, then it should work.
Brian can you upload your part? Much easier to see what is going on.
Unfortunately due to the nature of our work I am not able to share the model. I wish it was that easy.
I did find that I can add the slot normal to the surface and then use a curve pattern (sketched curve) to drive the slot pattern. It seems robust, is controllable and works in the flat pattern as well.
Can you unfold, add cut feature and then fold back?
