I have been able to apply a decal no issue before.. however, this time, it is doing this funky thing. Any idea what this is and how to solve it? Both decals are transparent PNGs. Thanks in advance for the help!

This is the same model I used to generate the first rendering (with the number 7). Once I generated te first rendering, I never saved the model, and thus the decal never saved. The second rendering yields those results, and even when I get rid of the Cupid decal and try the 7 decal again, it yields similar results. There are no other decals anywhere on this model.
try a work around???
Cut an area into the door to much the faulty decal, create a new infill body with out the polished metal effect, apply the decal to that.
bit of a ball-ache I know, but that would be my next step.
I don't think it has to do with the appearance either... I deleted the appearance and applied the same appearance I used in the rendering with the 7 and it still did it. It is driving me crazy. I could just start from scratch again, with a clean model, but then I won't ever know what caused this and how to fix it in case it happens again.
Also, for what it's worth, I tried applying both decals to the default Camaro project, and it worked perfectly fine. So I know the issue isn't with the decal itself, but rather something else.
Also, I tried the first decal (7) again and got similar results.
