Hi Mike ,
are any other programs , or windows itself, running slowly or just SOLIDWORKS?
if so I would try and see if there is a program eating your CPU or RAM allocations
are you running the latest approved graphics driver for your version of SOLIDWORKS? test here Graphics Card Drivers | Hardware & System Requirements | SOLIDWORKS
if it is not the graphics drivers I would try a registry reset to see if there are any corruptions to your registry , instructions for this can be found here http://www.javelin-tech.com/blog/2011/09/resetting-solidworks-windows-registry/
Have a read of this post SolidWorks is SUDDENLY very slow today. The reason I've given you this link is because of the date coincidence!
Having said that, I doubt that you would be running one of these graphics cards if your laptop was recommended and optimum as you state.
Definitely a video card issue - I have been running into the same thing, if you run the SW RX. Go to the Diagnostics Tab and see the first item in the list... Here is mine..
The issues are two fold, The Quadro 600 is listed as an approved Video card for Windows 7, however Nvidia doesn't have the Q600 compatible for Windows 10, so the viscous cycle begins with a Windows 10 Update, next Nvidia doesn't have their end updated, which in turn leaves SW hanging out to dry and us users as a non-existent species...
