Windows 7 64bit file location SW16

C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\lang\english\weldment profiles

If you place a folder named "WOOD" or whatever, with your profiles directly placed in the folder and that folder is in \weldment profiles] like this

C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\lang\english\weldment profiles\ WOOD

Solidworks will show a blank "Type" menu dropdown

Your weldment profiles must be under 2 folder in \weldment profiles] for some reason.

Like this,

C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\lang\english\weldment profiles\ CUSTOM \ WOOD

Then direct SW under options/ folder locations/ weldment profiles to the 3rd to last folder i.e. \weldment profiles

In this case SW is already directed  to that location but the same applies to different locations such as [My documents]

No other post i have read explains that your profiles have to be in multiple folders.

Not sure why they do this, extremely frustrating!  SW owes me 1.5 hours now for figuring this out and writing this post.   Going to start looking at other CAD programs, Been using SW for long enough that i shouldn't be getting frustrated everyday,  spending too much time trying to figure out why SW isn't doing something!  I'm also not new to CAD,  IronCAD, AutoCAD, ADT, Protel and a few other have long forgot.   I think most of us would have tools that work rather than broken ones or jumping through hoops to get to work!  No upgrade's fix what we already have.

Rant off..
