Sure would help if you gave us just a bit more info...
How are you deleting?
If you right click on the recycle bin icon on your desktop, with Windows 7, select Properties, you will see this...
Deselect the radio button Don't move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted.
using SW 2017, windows 10 pro.
I am deleting through the solidworks browser, right click the file and select delete.
I am sure in SW2016 they used to go to the recycle bin, as I recall going to the recycle bin to restore some files??
I think its a windows thing.
i think its something to do with deleting on a mapped drive, my solidworks files are mapped to a folder,
the drive is labelled S/:Solidworks files.
will have to speak to our IT, or navigate through my documents???
On a network drive there is a hidden folder for recycle bin. IT can use policies to allow you to view or not.
On my Windows-7 SW2016 SP5.0 when I delete a file using SW Open Explorer window, I do not see the files in my local desktop recycle bin.
It was always my understanding that anything deleted off the server doesn't go into the recycle bin, but anything that you delete that is on your workstation will....
it is mapped to a folder on my computer,
I mapped the drive so that it appears across my computers OS.
the Other option is to use a desktop shortcut, I found that annoying, as I would have to navigate to the desktop to find the short cut, where as a mapped drive appears at the top level of my windows location options
