Clone feature a given number of times - clones should be independent

I am looking for a way to create clones from a feature that are independent from each other.

I have a part document that consists of a board (extrude feature) and a hole (cut feature).

I want to be able to control the number of holes.

I could create a linear pattern feature: There is a parameter "instances" that defines the number of holes (marked red).

But then I cannot choose the position and size of each of the holes.

I want to use a type of pattern that only takes two parameters - the number of instances and a feture - and makes clones of that feature, just as the linear pattern feature. But without dependencies of size and position.

Does such a thing exist? Or something workaround-like that gives the same result?

I am planning on writing a macro that sets the positions and sizes of each hole correctly. But before I start I want to know if there is another way than to clone the feature by hand as many times as the maximum hole number I need (and let the macro suppress the holes not needed).
