It only possible 2D or 3D Sketch in SW. Why is this drop down menu not saying 2D Sketch, only saying Sketch & 3D Sketch ?
If you add the 3D Sketch icon right next to the Sketch icon in the tool bar, it will also show selected when in a 3D sketch or it will be grey'd out while in a 2D sketch.
"Sketch" = 2D Sketch
All sketches are 2D (so no need to specifically call them out), except for the ones that aren't.
If a sketch isn't 2D it should be correctly labeled for what it is.
Problem is this is a 3D Sketch. But there is no indication here.
History tree shows it as a 3d sketch.
Not only design tree but name as well tell this is a 3D sketch. But you can’t find out from the main tab, that is the issue.
Is there a particular reason why you need the tab, specifically, to indicate that it's a 3D sketch?
There are other visual clues like the extra "triad" when working in a 3D sketch. I don't even look at the sketch tab when I'm drawing. The only time I use it is to exit a 3D sketch.
I would suggest you set up your "s" button toolbar so that you can separate out the 2D and 3D sketch tabs if it's really that pressing
This is just Another example of the inconsistent user interface we are all living with and hope Dassault will concentrate their development dollars on fixing.
In my view this is a simple matter there is no reason to make any mistake. Therefore I tend to believe there may be a reason behind this.
Search these forums for UI inconsistencies (and various similar phrases) and you will find dozens of places where the users have publicly complained about this.
Your voice now joins the cacophony of other voices pleading to Dassault for relief and improvement.
