Hello everyone, I have one question about the attributes of folders. Could I get information about a quantity of the drawings in current folder?
Use Windows Explorer.
Sort your files, if necessary, to suit the info you desire.
Single left click on the first file.
Hold Shift and single left click on the last file (scroll first if necessary).
At the bottom of the Explorer window it will tell you how many items are selected
Alternately, while the files are highlighted, place your mouse pointer over one of the highlighted files and right click. Select Properties.
If you want the total number of files in a given folder, you can right click (in Windows Explorer) on the Folder and select properties.
Sorry, but it is forum of Solidworks Electrical (SWE). And I mean a quantity of the drawings in a folder of SWE project... I would like to use this information in my project documentation. And, maybe, I can get it as variable or attribute of the folder. But I don't know how and where I should search it.
If you are in EPDM: in Windows Explorer go to View>>Status Bar and check that it is on – it will provide info at the bottom left of the window on the number of results.
I don't have PDM and I think, that I was too brief in my first question.
So, I will try to write my question again, more fully.
I have some project of SWE. And this project contain few folders with different number of the files (drawings) for each folders. And I would like to know is the quantity for each folder, because I want to put this information on first page of the documentation. Automatically.
"Folder N 1 : 10 files"
"Folder N 2 : 5 files"
"Folder N 3 : 33 files"
And I would like that this information will update, when the number of files in the folder is changed. Automatically, again.
We use two books to do something similar. Then we use a report to list all of the pages in each book. I'm using 2017 SP2 and it looks like there are folder attributes available by default that you could do a similar report by folder.
