i have seen some annoying behavior and i think i've seen this in 2014 as well as 2017 that i'm using now. the assembly consists of several sheet metal parts, all of which have a "flat pattern" configuration. as we all know when we turn a sheet metal part into a flat pattern it creates a sketch that defines the border and bend lines. typically this sketch is only visible and active while in the "flat pattern" configuration.

now my issue is that i open the higher level assembly and all of these sketches are visible... even though all sheet metal parts are in their default configuration.

i can temporarily fix this by opening the individual sheet metal part, rebuilding (control-Q), saving, and closing back to the assembly.

but man that's annoying. anyone else experience this? anyone know of a fix?

(i'm aware you can just turn off sketch view, but that doesn't "fix" the problem it just hides it. occasionally i use reference sketches in assembly and it would be very cumbersome to have a bunch of other sketches also visible)
