Does our User Group have a meet-up at SolidWorks World?
Also, this will be my first time attending. Does anyone have some pointers or a few basic Do's & Don'ts?
We have never really met-up as a group at SolidWorks World, but I like the Idea. It would be nice to get a get a group picture at SolidWorks World to put out on the NEOSWUG forum page to show our representation at the conference. So to any NEOSWUG members reading this who are going, would you be willing to meet up for a group photo at some point? As far as do's and don'ts....... Soak it all in!! This is the biggest nerd fest you've ever been too, and its awesome!! Make sure you spend time in the partner pavilion. This is the largest collection of SolidWorks partner software and technology you will ever find together under one roof, so ask lots of questions. As far as breakout sessions goes, if you find yourself in a session that is not what you thought it was, don't be afraid to hit the rip cord and go join another session (as long as its not a hands on session) that you may have thought looked interesting. This is your time, use it wisely. You want the biggest bang for your companies buck! And last...... Enjoy your time there. Its a great place to meet some amazing people that have the same interests that you do. This is year number 13 for me, and it never gets old!
Those of us fortunate enough to go to SWW will confirm there is SERIOUS nerd/geek energy there! It is great fun, and you will have the opportunity to learn more than you can imagine. Take a typical reseller class & squeeze it into 1.5 hrs, then multiply your classes 4 per day times 3 solid days, and you have more info than you can possible digest on topics only available at SWW. But, I guarantee you'll learn things & meet people that you can't anywhere else. I've missed a couple, but this my 15th year, and I'll go every year I can. It's my annual recharge.
A meet up & NEOSWUG photo would be fun, I'm in .
Here's some info that been around a while, but still applies annually:
The SolidWorks World Survival Guide
I think someone that has gone to the show before should help with setting up a meet-up time and location. I would have no clue as to how to achieve this. Can someone just throw something out there and lets see if it is possible?
I'd suggest messaging your cell phone number to Craig or Jerry, if they don't already have it. This year, probably the easiest place to meet during a long period of time will be the Super Bowl party on Sunday afternoon. I plan to be there, we'll have to work out a NEOSWUG flare or signal of some type. It's surprisingly easy to find people there, even in a crowd of khaki & polos. See ya there!!
I won't be at the Super Bowl (TM) party. However, don't change plans based on me. I will message Craig & Jerry with my cell number.
