Working with some of our older parts I noticed in the drawings, and parts that, in the file properties/BOM, that there are references to weight, material size, and over all weight. When I make a new part, and I go to set the file properties, and those properties that I mentioned are not listed in the "Value/Text Expression" field. How would I get these fields to be present with every new part?

You can add these to your template.
Start a new part, add the required properties and then save as part template. With this all new parts would have those properties
For older files where those properties are not there, you can use Task Scheduler, macro or #TASK to add the properties.
Tony Cantrell - Deepak Gupta - That is correct you can add these properties to the part or assembly template. I might be the only one, but I prefer that my templates have no custom properties, I want to control everything from the Custom Property Tab Builder....

I do both. My templates include all the CusProp with default values and these CusProp will be editted using Tab Builder
I like to put the standard properties used on parts/assy/dwgs for the companies I work for, though I like using the property tab.
Like the saying goes.... whatever floats your boat
But what I do is open my Tab Builder template and add all the info that is pertinent for that project, customer, dates, revs', ecn info, really all the constant info, then all I need to fill out is the machine process, material construction, review process and description, only once in a while do I have to fill out more than 4 or 5 custom properties, everything else was in the Tab Builder file. Just before the project is ready for the drawings, I'll open each part to run 2 macros and add the correct Tab Builder file and enter the other info...
