When you say "suppress" do you really mean "hide"?
Because if your freeze bar is active and the feature is frozen, then you can't delete it, you can only hide it.
If this is the case, just slide the yellow bar above the feature, then delete it.

im having this exact same problem. do you remember how you fixed it?
The last time Rob logged in was last July so I thought I'd answer.
When Rob was trying to delete a feature he had a sketch open. Make sure you're not in an active sketch.
Hope this helps.
oh okay, well the problem i am having is when the sketch is closed and i have a created part i am trying to delete a sketch that i accidentally made but it will not let me. the delete key is not broken and when i RMB it there is a option for delete however is will not let me delete it. it computer makes the error noise when ever i press any button after until i hit escape. i have opened a new part and made a sketch then tried to delete it as well and it does the exact same thing. any help would be amazing as this is really messing up my workflow.

Please post the Part here so we can take a look (How can I attach a file to a forum post?).
under my current N.D.A. i am not able to post the part i am having issues with. i think i may have it figured out. i think it was just a glitch as i restarted my comp right now and it is now not doing it. if i do have the issue come up again today while working i will be sure to make a new part i am able to post and show you all. but i do appreciate the responses thank you all
If you can ever produce this behavior in a Part that you can post please do so.
Something just occurred to me. I don't know if someone else has mentioned this, but if you use an Assembly feature, such as the Hole Wizard, and choose the option to propagate the feature to the Part, then the feature will show up in the Part tree, but can't be deleted from the Part. It can only be deleted or edited from within the Assembly. I don't suppose that's the case with you, or the OP?
Glenn Schroeder, sorry to hijack this thread, but what you mentioned was a prime example of what I am facing now. If I delete an assembly level feature that has been propagated, then it stays in the part suppressed and un-deletable. The only way I've found to remove it is to right-click -> "make independent" and then I can delete it. Is there some options somewhere to handle this better? I.e. when I remove an Assembly level feature, the propagated features should also be removed. Wouldn't this be expected behavior?

I don't remember ever running into a situation where I needed to delete an Assembly feature that was propagated to the Part. I.e. when I remove an Assembly level feature, the propagated features should also be removed. Wouldn't this be expected behavior? I agree. If an Assembly feature is propagated to a Part, and is deleted, I'd expect the feature to be deleted from the Part. However, the SW programmers aren't in the habit of checking with me when setting up something like this (I do have a few suggestions for them if they ever start.)
You've posted this question twice:
why can not delete feature in part
more info is needed...
