When using the thread feature in 2017, I get no option to select the thread type or size. There is nothing that shows up in the drop down. Any suggestions.
Is your Thread Profiles" location set properly?
This is kind of a silly question but did you try clicking on the top circular edge of the part? It might not give you any options unless it has an idea on what size you are trying to make the thread.
Yes I went through all of the steps. My co-worker has the same version installed and they are able to access the specifications.
I was wondering if there are some system files I could copy from theirs to mine to make it work properly.
Go to their computer and have them do a Copy Settings Wizard and save it in a folder that you can load, then open the Copy Wizard at your computer and load those settings..
I tried the Copy Settings Wizard with my co-workers settings and had no luck.
You might try a register re-set (Resetting the SOLIDWORKS registry). I don't have any personal experience with this, but it's worth a shot.
Thank you Dennis. That seemed to work. For some reason it was still pointing at the 2016 install.
Mine said SOLIDWORKS 2016, so I changed it to 2017 since I am running a 2017 version and it worked! Thank you.
Similar issue, but I don't even have the 'Thread Profiles' file in my SW2018 library. Is there a way to recover it?

2018 SP3.0 just came out. Have you installed it yet?
If not, I would download the full install and give that a try. It should have everything including the thread profiles files.
Hi, unfortunately I don't have technical support anymore and cannot upgrade to SP3.0.

I'm not really sure but I think that you can still download the full install of whatever the latest version of SWX to which you're entitled.
Remember, the full install, not just an update.
If you uninstall SWX and run the full install you should get the thread profile threads back.
