My team has 1 professional and 3 standard licenses. I would like to know if I can install PDM standard and use it with all the licenses.Thank you.
Thank you for your answer Craig.
I´ve read this FAQ in a VAR:
Yes, the licenses will be allowed to float among users and across multiple regions as SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional licenses do today. If your company has a mix of SOLIDWORKS Standard and SOLIDWORKS Professional and/or Premium, a SOLIDWORKS Standard user would be able to consume a SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard CAD Editor license. This is provided you have installed the SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard CAD Editor client.
Couldo you explain what this means?
I read that as you'd only have 1 license of PDM then..... So any time someone is logged into it, the others are out of luck.
I'm interested in the same functionnality! In my case I have two SW license one Premium and one standard. Do I absolutely need to upgrade my standard license to pro or it's possible to use only one PDM license for two SW sessions?
I know it all depends on how we work but are there users here that are sharing PDM licenses? How does it work. Do you need it only when you want to save your work, or when you want to change their state?
I don't have experience with PDM and I'm looking at installing it at my work. So I want to make sure of what I need to work without braking the bank.
No, any user that is setup with permissions is able to use PDM. However as stated only one seat will be available. The other thing to be aware of is that while the software is included with your Professional seat the installation will cost extra. SW would like for the VAR to be able to trouble shoot any issues better (as I was informed by our VAR) so they do not make installation instructions available to other than VARs. Cost to us with training is ~$2000.
