I am having an issue with sheet metal feature in solidworks 2017 sp1.0. When I go to import my flat pattern view into my drawing it is not unloding it. I get an error in my model and the only way to fix it is edit the flat pattern sketch and delete all my dimensions and relations. Any idea what I might be doing wrong in 2017 that is different from 2016 and prior? Possible bug?
Every sheet metal part I am making.
Could you upload a part that't not working or a sample part that you can replicate?
Can you make a simple flat sheet (no bends) and then add flat pattern view for that?

I haven't seen your 3D and 2D files, but here is what I experieced while working with sheet metal
If there is any error in the 3D model flat pattern, there is very good change, it won't be shown on the 2d Dwg - I like this approach since it tells mw the part can't be flatterned
If you go back and make any change in the 3D model, make sure it's error free before go back and try on your 2D dwg
Well this is frustrating. I had this happen to about 13 different parts and I fixed them to get the prints to work. Now I try to repeat it and I cannot. Ill keep my eye out and when it happens again ill post the file. Sorry.
As John's suggest: can you post your model here; otherwise, we just guessed what was wrong with your model
By viewing the way you built your sheet metal, me might find common error you made and if it's lucky enough, it can be used to fix all of your sheet metal parts
Jeremy, has this happened consistently with multiple sheet metal parts, or is it just the one so far? Perhaps it could have something to do with how you modeled the part in question?
