Are you saying that the modify box always highlights the top line and not the bottom (dimension) line?
Thanks for your reply, yes your question was correct

Deepak thanks for your reply. Although the forum says that this is the correct answer it did not work on the users system
Has it 'always' done this or has it started since a system update or upgrade Jonathan?
What version of Windows are you using?
What version SolidWorks (& Service pack) are you using?
2015 sp 5.0 on a surface pro using win 10
Can you reset SOLIDWORKS registry OR try to reinstall it?
Just select the dimension and change it.
Thanks I know you can do that. It just easier when the dimension selected 1st
Believe I tried a clean install and it did not work. Its just something that I have to live with
This is obviously NOT normal behaviour and whilst it may seem a little trivial issue, there should still be a remedy for it?
Well you might want to try the reset registry method: Resetting the SOLIDWORKS registry
If that doesn't work out then please call your VAR/SOLIDWORKS reseller (from whom you've bought the SOLIDWORKS software) and ask their team to investigate.
Do share the outcome as it might help others with similar issues.
2015 Smart Dimension in Sketch Defaults to Dimension ID Entry
Following the thread you posted, Dennis Bacon linked another thread
- there was a solution found for SW2015 - Maybe this will work here also.
That's the same one I had suggested above
Will do. Thanks
