Hi! I often need to draw points in a drawing to create reference points for dimensions. Is there a way to create a reference point in a drawing that will not show up in the "printed" drawing? Illustration attached.
I create a "HIDDEN" Layer.
As Deepak said, placing them in a Layer that's turned off is the simplest solution. Of course I see from the other Discussion that you're having an issue with that. Another option (unless that edge belongs to a cylindrical body) would be to right-click on that edge with the Smart Dimension active and choosing "Select midpoint" from the drop-down instead of placing the sketch point.
Placing a Centerline would be another option. (I've heavily customized my CommandManager so yours is likely in another location, but it should be there somewhere on the Annotation tab.)
Glenn, thank you! I did not realize that was an option. This will help until I get the layer issue resolved.
Apply the points in the model feature sketch and hide the sketch after placing the dimension.
Put those points on a layer and set that layer to hidden/no print mode.
