I am looking to spec a new pc to run 2017 Premium with some rendering. My average assembly builds run from 5000-10,000 parts. This includes solidworks toolbox components, parts and sub-assemblies. When working in the parent assembly I get big lag spikes when using the parts and I have most setting turned down. I get frustrated but I am also pretty use to it. When my boss sits next to me and wants to work together on a project, he gets very frustrated when things move slow.
I got a new pc a little over a year ago and have already upgraded my hard drive to a SSD and weighing in the options, I personally would like to just upgrade my graphics card to a M4000 or M5000 but my boss wants me to buy a new pc. Maybe a BOXX.
Current PC Specs.
Dell Precision Tower 5810
Windows 10 pro
Intel Xeon CPU E5-1620 v3 @ 3.50GHz (8 CPU)
32gig ram
SSD hard drive
Nvidea Quadro K620
Files are stored on a server but solidworks is loaded on my local pc.
Any thoughts.
It is necessary to be even more modest my friend. I hope DNA did not think to construct yet....
